It seems that a subtle Metroid-Stranger Things crossover slipped through the cracks! A new Target commercial, released almost two weeks ago at the time of writing, shows Ted Wheeler going to Target after he accidentally spills his bowl of cheese balls. A montage of Target in the 80s is shown, including kids playing on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) consoles. One of the games advertised for it as “available now”, aside from Kid Icarus and The Legend of Zelda, is the original Metroid!
