During today’s Nintendo Direct, another trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond was revealed! The rainforest environment seen in last year’s trailer has been revealed as the planet Viewros, to which Samus has been mysterious transported via portal. There’s an enormous tree in its center. The lights in Samus’s suits are purple in this trailer. There is evidence of an ancient civilization that was present here, called Lamorn.

New “abhorrent, alien creatures” were also shown off, along with new battle music. Samus now has new psychic abilities, which can be used to “operate mechanisms, open doors and control the trajectory of her beams, controlled using the power of her mind”. At the end of the trailer, we also have a glimpse of a brand new suit, and a new Lamorn character that calls Samus the Chosen One, and we get glimpses of a Metroid and a Flaahgra-like boss, Carvex.

Sadly, no new release date has been announced, but we will keep you informed as soon as we know.
