Metroid Dread wins Nintendo Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards 2021

Metroid Dread has won Nintendo Game of the Year, as voted by members of the public! Nicolas Wegnez, General Manager at Nintendo UK accepted the award, praising the development teams at Nintendo and Mercury Steam. Wegnez went on to say that almost twenty years had passed between the previous 2D Metroid title Metroid Fusion, and this new game, making the point that many players had never played a 2D Metroid game before. He thanked both development teams who worked together to create Metroid Dread.

Congratulations to Nintendo and Mercury Steam!
