In the Nintendo Direct presentation on September 13, Nintendo Switch Online was finally detailed, and one of the NES games announced to come to the service was the original Metroid. Yesterday, Nintendo of America confirmed when we’ll get to play it: November 14, exactly one week from today. The game appears to be a straight port, graphical glitches and all, without added co-op functionality. Those of you who are subscribed to Switch Online will now have another reason to enjoy it. And if you don’t want to subscribe, there are still plenty of other ways to enjoy the original game, including through Virtual Console, the NES Classic, and within Metroid Prime or Metroid: Zero Mission.
