Nintendo Minute has released a 20 minute long video with some new gameplay and information about Metroid: Samus Returns. They also showed off the amiibo for the game. Apparently, the Reserve Tanks that the amiibo unlock are permanent; they’re not one-time uses. You can’t get rid of them once you’ve scanned them in unless you start a new save file. When you run out of energy, Missiles and Aeion, they will automatically be replenished. It also shows the Metroid marker, but not the galleries or Fusion Suit since those are unlocked after beating the game.
Additionally, it looks like the Ice and Power Beams don’t stack, and you can switch between them on the touch screen a’la Metroid Prime and Echoes. The Ice Beam has been slightly reworked: you now need to charge your shot to freeze enemies, a regular shot only briefly immobilizes them.
