Nintendo has an idea of when Metroid Prime 4 will be released

Nintendo of America COO and president Reggie Fils-Aimé recently spoke to Mashable, primarily about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (his main is Ridley). He mentioned Nintendo’s practice of planning high profile releases for big selling seasons, like the holiday season or the launch of the Nintendo Switch. When asked if they have any idea of when Metroid Prime 4 will be on store shelves, he said:

Internally, we have expectations about when [Metroid Prime 4] is going to be released. We haven’t announced it, but yeah, the game is well in development.

Unfortunately, he did not elaborate, saying that Nintendo likes to showcase its games in great depth when they’re at least six months to a year away from release to avoid teasing players endlessly.

Updates on the status of Metroid Prime 4’s development have been scarce ever since its announcement at E3 2017. However, knowing that Nintendo has an idea of when it will come out means that its production is going well. We’ll keep you posted whenever news about Prime 4 is revealed. While you wait for its full unveiling, don’t forget that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be released next month, and we’ll be able to play as Ridley and Dark Samus for the first time ever.
