SpotArt Station
Hi! My name is SpotArt Station. I’m currently 20 years old attending University to further my education in animation and character design. I have been an artist since I could pick up a pencil, however, I started taking my art seriously in the summer of 2019. I am a 2d animator and character artist. I mostly like drawing my own original characters or fanart for the Metroid series! I currently work as the main merchandise artist for Metroid Database, you may know me from the new Enamel Pins I designed! I only joined the larger Metroid Community in August but I’m so happy to be a part of it!
I have been a Metroid fan for over 5 years ever since I played Super Metroid on my Wii U. I fell in love with the series instantly. My favorite game in the series is the Newest one; Dread! My favorite aspect of the series is the intricate world design because of the stories you can make as you spelunk through alien caverns. That, and the nonstop action of controlling the galaxy’s bravest bounty hunter; Samus Aran! My favorite track in the series is the Surface of Sr-388 theme from Metroid 2, it always makes me feel like going on an adventure. I’m excited to see what’s next for Samus!
Looking to the future I want to keep improving my art and animation skills as well as keep giving back to the larger Metroid community. I will continue working with the good people at Metroid Database to give new Metroid experiences to everyone! I can’t wait to show you all what I have planned with Metroid Database as well as my Personal NES Metroid Dread Projects! I hope to continue being a part of this wonderful community and can’t wait to see how it grows! I’ll See you Next Mission!
Our Thoughts
I’m a big fan of Spot’s work on the Metroid Dread NES manual, I think he does an excellent job at capturing the style and vibe of the original Metroid game’s artworks and concept arts. His cartoony and vibrant sketches are really cool too! It’s always fun to see Metroid art that feels a bit sillier as opposed to the very serious and dark themes of the series.
